Mouthpiece review website, amazing!!!

Post by Westybone »

This is possibly the worst information about mouthpieces I’ve ever seen, but it is worth a read just to brighten up your day.

What scares me is that somebody will take the comments seriously.

They are comparing 3 different sizes (5G, 6.5AL, and 12C) with different manufacturers. The statements read like advertising hype, not real evaluation.

I wish we could post a warning about the site ON THE SITE.

This sad excuse for "information" did definitely not "brighten up my day" - in fact it depresses me that such garbage even exists. :amazed:

One needn't read the "reviews" to know how pathetic they would be - just look at the picture of the happy trombonists! Whoever is behind "Sound-Unsound" is certainly not a legitimate music store; they should be banished from the Internet. :frown:

It is a shill website set up solely to make money from Amazon's click referral program. I've seen sites like this for a wide variety of instruments and other products. Some of them are fully bot generated I am sure but even those that aren't, it's just someone with no expertise putting it together in a hurry. The descriptions and recommendations from these websites are usually just summarizing reviews found on the amazon website. No research or personal experience with the product exists on them.

Parents of kids that don't know better tend to fall for these sites. They are trying to research online for reviews for instruments and sites like this pop up as there aren't professional publications reviewing band instruments in this way. Very few are aware of the knowledge you can find in old school message boards like this one.

Same feeling here. It shouldn't be so easy to find with Google. It's one of the top 3 sites you have when you type trombone mouthpiece review...

That’s why I tell my students “if you are looking for a new trombone let me steer you in the right direction”

Jeez - what trash!

But........... I have to admit... they did a fine job in their description of the Glory Professional 12C mouthpiece.

"It is silver plated which gives it a shiny and gorgeous look, guaranteed to make you stand out and make you feel more confident in your own skills."

I will also admit that I just bought one. Because I have been lacking confidence in my skills lately - I think because my current mouthpiece is no longer shiny.

Greenbean we're all confident of your abilities without a shiny new 12C!
