Greg Black Mouthpiece Question

Post by JohnRosner »

Hi Everyone!

I'm wondering what the difference is between a greg black symphony tenor mouthpiece and a regular large shank tenor mouthpiece and how that affects the playing?

I'm specifically looking at the 5C Tenor Mouthpiece and the 5G Symphony Tenor Mouthpiece.

Hi John!

I believe that you might be a little confused, our Tenor Trombone pieces are in small shank, and our Symphony Tenor pieces are in large shank. Usually all trombone C cups (like 6c, 9c, and 12c) made stock by us at Greg Black are in small shank, whereas all of our G cups (like 5g, 4g, and 3g) are in large shank.

Hope this helps!
