Nothing wrong with these mouthpieces. Slightly larger cup & throat than a Bach 12C, which I find helpful. But the shanks will be too large for your Olds trombones (which have "undersized" receivers), so may be out of tune / not slot well compared to Olds mouthpieces, which have the "proper" shank. If you like a larger mouthpiece, you may want to search out an Olds 1 - it's about the same size as the DW 12CS (even larger throat), slightly different cup shape, but will fit the Olds trombone receivers perfectly. Or use the DW 12CS on the BAC LA Jazz horn.

Thanks. I've never had any issues with modern mps on my Olds horns.
If I got one, I'd use it on my BAC LA Jazz bone.

Is that mouthpiece new or has it been custom refurbished? I ask because I have never seen a Denis Wick mouthpiece with the matte gold finish on the body. I assume it is marked with DENIS WICK LONDON on the other side.

Well, the mp arrived this evening.
Right out of the box I was able to sustain a solid high E for the first time since I began playing in 1972.
Pedals are also solid.
What witchcraft is this?

I"d love to hear you play those high E notes.
Where to you get to play them?
I've seen a few high Fs, but very few Es written.
As a practical matter, I bail out after D these days! :shuffle:

Well, as the big band is on holiday hiatus and I have no upcoming gigs for the rest of the year, I'll be playing those Es in my basement/mancave/studio.
