Re: Definitely Worth the Wait
Beautiful horns, how do they sound? How is the weight / balance with the TIS? Tell us more, please.

The Fuchs plays itself. It’s surprisingly not that heavy with the TIS. Balance is fine with me and I’m not a big guy at all. Compared to the Williams, the Fuchs does have a slight edge over it. Easier to play, to me it has a bigger sound, and the blow of it is just plain effortless.

Tee Hee !! That's two exclusive clubs you are a member of. Is it just the inner slide that has been replaced and a slide/bell lock added ?

Cork barrels were replaced, inner slide, replacement yellow brass outer slide tubes from Shires, and slide/bell lock added from friction fit. The tuning hardware is original to the horn.
Thanks! It sure is beautiful and I'm having a grand time learning how to play it.

Nice. Were the original outers also yellow brass?

Beautiful! Benn did a really nice job! When I was in his shop a few months ago I saw it still in pieces. It looks much better assembled.

It sure is beautiful! I’ve stared at this horn every single day since getting it back.
