Any interest in a 120 year old trombone?

Post by Kingfan »

I ended up with a floor lamp made of an old trombone with the lamp rod going up the bell, coming out where the tuning slide fits. The horn was not drilled or beat on in the transformation. I cleaned it off enough to find it is an HN White The King trombone SN #3242. According to the chart I found on line, it is circa 1898-1899. The finish is worn, but the only major damage otherwise is a cracked slide crook. The tuning slide works well. It would take bunch of work to make this a player, but I hate to see a 120-year-old trombone just sitting. Does anybody collect these kind of trombones, even for parts to fix up another one?
I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are still missing! :D
