My and my buddy’s 3Bs

Post by TromboneSam »

I’ve played a mid-70s 3B for a few years now and came to find out my buddy also has one, with an additional valve section! We discovered the serial numbers are also only 85 away from each other! I like my bell better but his slide better. Mine is the one missing lacquer. Kinda cool to see what happens as they age differently. Mine was originally a marching horn for a public school, his was bought new by his high school band director as a personal horn. Both still play like a dream!

Very cool! I've got a 3B-F from the same era. Great all-around horn.
I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are still missing! :D

Here are mine. 1973 yellow brass 3B on the left, 1972 yellow brass 3BF on the right. Both with the loopy bell engraving. Just got the 3BF from the classifieds on here to compliment the 3B, which has been my workhorse for years (bought from DJ!) that I will never replace.
