Yamaha Trombones Out of Stock

Post by westla »

Does anyone have an idea of why Yamaha Pro line horns are out of stock almost everywhere. A student of mine has been looking for a new Yamaha YSL-640 (medium bore) since November, and no one has it in stock, and the wait time is another 3 or 4 months. I know there are global supply chain problems, just wondering if anyone has an idea of why this is affecting Yamaha trombones.

@westla

This is true for many U.S. made trombones over here in Europe. Bach, King i.e. with massive price rise, ~ about 20% since 12/2022.

I don’t know, but I wanted to put the ysl-882gor into contention while shopping for a new instrument a few weeks back, and I simply couldn’t find one to try.

Most instrument manufacturers are facing some sort of issues with production, whether it's availability of materials, shortage of labor, or other assorted things. It really sucks.
