Difference between Bach 42 and 47 bells

Post by Tbarh »

I find the info on the website a bit confusing.. Are there a difference in taper between these bells?

Slightly, the 47 has a different thickness profile, slightly smaller stem, different bead.

Yes, it's noticeable. Of course the artisan chassis is different as well, so it can't be compared exactly..

I personally prefer a good 42 bell, a bit larger and warmer sounding.

47 has a reversed tuning slide (though I think the taper is the same...?).

Different valve options, slightly. Slides are different too.

Hmm.. Interesting.. The 42 has a rather tight neckpipe.. Maybe its bigger on the 47 due to the reverse Tuning.. ๐Ÿ™„

I think that is a different part on the 47. Don't quote me on that though.
