XO 1240 bass trombone - leadpipes

Post by sacfxdx »

Has anyone tried non-XO leadpipes in an XO bass trombone? I recently tried a couple Greenhoe pipes and they sounded good. I was wondering if anyone else had tried non-XO pipes and how they liked them.

Thanks,
Steve

I picked up a 1240 a year ago and I prefer my Callet leadpipe over the three that came with the horn. I find it to be livelier and more vibrant. The Callet is what I used in my Bach for 25 years, however, so perhaps it's just comfortable after all these years.
