Question about measurement of Conn 24h Artist model

Post by daviddove »

I'm wondering if anyone here can share some dimensions of a Conn 24h Artist model, the type first manufactured in 1958.

It's a long story. But I own one of these. (Mine was made in 1958.) Due to airline restrictions, its stranded with a trusted friend in Moscow. (Advice - Never fly on Aeroflot with your trombone.)

I'm purchasing a Marcus Bonna case, with the hope that the airlines will tolerate one of these more compact cases for their overhead bins. I'm trying to decide which case to get, Bonna "Super Light" or "Compact".

I'm trying to find out the measurement from the back of the tuning slide to the bell. (This horn's bell is a little set back for mutes.) Knowing this dimension will help me decide which Bonna case is better suited for me.

Any info is greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much!

I have an early 24H from 1937. With the tuning slide in all the way it measures 27.25"

Let me know if you want any other measurements.
