Voice Teacher Reacts to Lady Gaga - The Star-Spangled Banner

Post by AndrewMeronek »

I don't like most Youtube "reacts" videos, but I like this guy. He isn't afraid to get into the details and the stuff about controlling space with diphthongs and the tongue I find really interesting. And this stuff definitely can apply to trombone as well.

Adam Neely had a nice review of how the arrangement worked.

I was surprised at the key, although Gb does seem to be a popular key for some singers. It certainly worked for her.

For reference, if anyone is interested in Adam Neely's take.

"Presidential Inaugurations are supposed to be really stately..."

I get the sense that he's never actually watched one before. It's like what a twelve-year-old thinks the Cliff Notes will say.

He seems to presume that all marches are written by John Philip Sousa. It is probably the one name he has heard. I bet he thinks all symphonies are by "Beethoven".

He keeps telling us things and then adding, "at least it seemed that way to me."

No kiddin', huh?
