Re: Trombones as a protection against COVID?

Protection or Propagation?

I think the trombone was originally developed as a tool for the distribution of viruses... I figure we can probably float the virus as least 40 feet...

It was just a bonus that it turned out to sound soooo nice.

Sennheiser MKE2/K6 Lavalier Mic

I recently was doing some cleanup of old "stuff" and rediscovered an old, but nice Lavalier Mic a forgot I had... Has anyone tried one of these to mic a t-bone? If so, what did you think? Also, how did you mount it to the bell? I'm going to experiment with it, but am always eager to hear others thou...

I'm really pleased with how this horn turned out... It looks better than I had ever hoped it would... and it still plays great. Hopefully Ray will be able to get the slide closure to a 10/10 than it is now (we talked about it before the bottom dropped out on us). Yes, I really miss the band...hope w...

1946 King 2b - Restored

I thought somebody might appreciate this story... In mid December 2019, I saw a locally owned 1946 King 2b on ebay, so I arranged to view it and then purchased it on the spot. The horn had a few dings and the slide was barely moving - but only due to 2 small dings. The slide went to the slide doctor...

Re: Yamaha YSL-354

I have a YSL-354 bell section, but no slide. Does anyone know what slides will mate with the 354? (since I'm having trouble locating an affordable replacement slide - I'm now wanting to expand the search)... I'm also open to a valve section instead of slide...

Thx!

As I understand it, these are all three for a large bore tenor (.547) 1: small venturi diameter—centered sound with very clear articulation 2G: medium venturi diameter—open sound, generally the most popular size gold brass*—warm, dense sound, rounded articulations (can limit clarity) 3: largest vent...
