Re: Best Alternatives of Bach 11C and Bach 6 3/4C

I used to use Josef Klier Exclusive 6C with a #2 rim when I was playing classical at school and very happy with it. Very good quality pieces. 9D is definately worth to try.

Re: Best Alternatives of Bach 11C and Bach 6 3/4C

Hey fellas, I appreciated all your answers and suggestions. As I mentioned , I love the rim shape / feel, weight and cup of the Bach 11C. If only I could have that same rim in 25.00mm with an open throat as my DE piece. Yes, the Bach throat is a little tight for me because of that I said I needed a ...

Best Alternatives of Bach 11C and Bach 6 3/4C

Hi, I used to play with a Bach 11C which I still love. Although, I like the rim feel of 11C, I've been searching for something has just a bit larger rim, open blowing piece soundwise in the last couple of years. After I played, blind tested, tried out couple of others including Monette TS11 (the reg...

Re: Greg Black 9C ...... New model/size

What's the specs of the 9C? Inner rim, BackBore and Throat? I tried out GB 7C was a nice piece soundwise but rim shape felt a little sharp and smaller than my Bach 11C because of the contour I think. I wonder how this new 9C feels and play? I am on a Doug Elliot ST99 for a while and love it so far. ...

If I am right, Carl Fontana and Scott Whitfield played with the LT12. Who else do you know that I can find out and listen their recordings?

Bach Strad. Small Bore Bell Section

What are the main differences between the Bach Stradivarius 12 and 16M bells? I know about the 12 and 16M slides but, are the bells the same or quite different?

Do you guys generally like the Bach 12 soundwise compare to the other .500 inch bores?

Re: FS: RATH S11 Mark Nightingale model (NEW)

I think it goes well with the YSL- 352 since it is a small bore horn.
Think Rath S 11 MN like a Bach 11C with steroids.
Shipping is very reasonable so, if you are a serious buyer I can pay the shipping no problem.

Re: FS/FT CONN 100H Tenor trombone

Hello! Is Conn 100H lighter than the King 2B or 3B in weight? So id say overall its lighter and more balanced than kings except for the Jiggs 2B. Oh, then I would definately try one out. I use to use a Jiggs 2B and the only thing I didn't like was the bell flare which was a bit small for me. But th...

When I was playing at the RCM Big Band in the early 1990's, Don was playing with a YAMAHA. I think it was a YSL-691 as J.J. Johnson played with it lately.

How should one choose a new instrument?

Hello,
I know we are all different but in general how should we trombonists choose/pick a good instrument?
In my experience up to now, I suggest to start from choosing a lead pipe first.

What is your approach, suggestions and experience about choosing a good player instrument?

Hi to you all, I used to use Josef Klier Exclusive mpcs when I was at the university. But last couple of years, I've been using Doug Elliot mpcs, which I think fits for me and also soundwise of course. I play tested lots of different mpcs in the last decade and compared with the DE system was the wi...
