Re: Nelson Riddle Bass Trombone excerpts?
Not quite what you were asking for, but I have a play-along record titled "5 Pieces for Bass Trombone" written by Nelson Riddle and performed by George Roberts with the Academy Brass (DNE Records, 1003) from 1969 that comes with the written-out bass trombone lines.

You might be able to buy it from PDFBandCharts.com. His listing shows he has two versions, but it's not clear if there is a fifth tbone part.

Re: Going digital: stands and holders?
I use a collapsible mic stand without the boom (looks similar to the goStand you mentioned) and screw-on a MANOS tablet holder purchased through AirTurn. It clamps my iPad Pro securely and still swivels easily to change from portrait to landscape if you need to do that due to size of the music. The ...

Re: Missing a page from "Front Burner" (Nestico)
I don't have a copy in my band's library, but you can buy that single part through the website "https://pdfbandcharts.com/-/PDF_Band_Charts/PDF_Band_Charts.html". I have used the site for filling in missing parts for LOTS of charts our band was missing. They have 2 versions of Nestico's "Front Burne...

Our local high school has a copy and will get it to me, but the director is on vacation, so it may not be until next week. Hope that works.

The band I thought might have it does not. Have you considered borrowing the conductor's score and create the second page yourself from the score? You can get free music notation software that will help you, or write it yourself on staff paper.

When do you need it? I though it was for tonight. I know another community band with a large library that I can check to see if they have it if there is enough time. I also checked several university libraries but found nothing there.

Re: Sousapalooza!
The Chicago event had the Navy Band Great Lakes as the base unit (18 including the conductor) plus about another 20 from the public. It sounded great, what with no rehearsal and sight reading most of the charts. Good balance across all the sections, with 5 trombones. Played outside Wrigley field sho...

Have not tried it, but there are several pet tracking devices out there, some with no subscription fees. I was just looking at Findster (getfindster.com) as a no-subscription option, but the battery life is not long, and the range is only .5-3 miles, depending on topography.

According to the score on the JW Pepper website, there are 3 Tbn parts. 1st and 2nd are the same except for a few split notes on longer-held chords. 3rd part is written separately, but it appears to be identical to 1st/2nd except for just a handful of measures. The YouTube video of the University of...

Following on the reference to Christopher Bill, he answered a question during his ATW presentation where he listed exactly what equipment and software he used. Very Interesting. Check out the Day 2 presentation where he started at 5:45 EST. He played for about 20 minutes then started the Q&A.

I have been using an iPad Pro for about 2 years using it only for playing in 3 bands, using the ForScore app with an AirTurn foot pedal for turning pages. Our big band plays primarily ballroom dances that we host monthly at a steady location (local VFW ballroom). We charge $10 per head and all money goes back into the band for equipment, charts, and the like. No one gets paid. We get hired a few times per year to travel somewhere else getting paid abo...

I also have a 1970s 71H, but have not seen a lot of comment about these horns on this site or TTF. I find mine a little stuffy in the low C and D region (with trigger), and I'm wondering whether it is the horn or my chops. Otherwise, I also love the sound from the horn.

Parduba Double Cup mpc
My alto sax-playing father just mentioned a Parduba double cup mpc for trombone to me that I had never heard of before. I'm intrigued, but is it a gimmick, a fad, or something worth looking into? It does not show up in my Picket mouthpiece comparability app, so I'm wondering how their sizing compares?
