FS: Shires Independent Trubore Bass with Bach 50 bell

Great bass trombone here for sale! I've recently changed horns so this is up for grabs. Nice big orchestral sound and can get bright if you want it to. Very flexible sound with good intonation. (Previously had the valves and slide listed separately but decided to sell as a full horn) Bach Stradivari...

FS: Custom Screw bell Elkhart Conn 62h with 1st gen Thayers

Hi all, Highly customized horn for sale. Love the sound and I was really hoping I could get used to the Thayers. Unfortunately, they just don't work as well for me. This horn plays really well in the valve and sounds like a Conn on steroids. It has 1st Gen Thayer valves (independent) and a screw bel...

I think I missed that thread on the old forum. THANKS a lot. I have a hard time getting around during the winter. This is a great solution. My pleasure. FS: Yamaha YBH 301 Baritone

I'm selling a Yamaha YBH 301 Baritone. It is yellow brass lacquered. This is the British style baritone (not the marching baritone that goes by YBH 301M). The valves move well and it plays well! Plays more in tune than some B & H Imperials that I've played. The sound is pretty even and the horn is s...

Re: Monster Oil Trombone Slide Cream

I use their line of valve oils for my euphonium. I like it! I find it builds up gunk a lot slower than hetmans. The tuning slide grease was a little thin for me. But I like think goopy stuff on my slides!

Haven't tried their slide cream though.

These moded cases are cool. Can people post dimensions of those cases for comparison's sake? The Basilli case (same as the Bonna Tenor Case) is 11"x6"x34 1/2" (11" at the widest end) The Bonna jazz case is 9"x5.1"x33" The Holton 8.5 case is 10.2"x4.9x35" Mine is 34x12x6 (12 is the widest point)

Re: screw bell case roundup

If anybody is curious, a 16" Viola case is just big enough/long enough to fit a trombone slide! I got a cheap Viola case and modified it for my screw bell tenor. I'll get around to making a better looking bell cover at some point.

Hey there,

If you list the picc on one of the trumpet "for sale" pages on Facebook, you could get easily $1500 for the horn. Trumpet players go nuts for those Getzen piccs with outfitting them with Blackburn leadpipes.
Thanks! I'll try that!

When you clean off your valves, is there a lot of gunk coming off of it? Ie. Lots of black. If it is a newer horn, some oils and grit may be travelling there from other parts of the horn. It may be worth getting a deep clean to get all of the factory oils out. Another thing to do would be to bring i...
