Re: A 5G with V cup

I know you said you were looking for a small shank however..... I bought a Wessex 4Y mouthpiece a while ago. I could not get it to work for me. Fast forward a year. Now it sounds great, maybe I`m doing more large bore playing but it`s wonderful. It`s about a 5G-ish rim with a very deep V shaped cup ...

Re: 500 vs 508 bore

Just my 2 cents, I have 2 Bach 12`s (.500) and a 16MG (.509) I notice a difference . However, that being said, the difference between the horns is more feel than sound. If they are your horns, you are going sound like you on them. My 16MG is slightly heavier in the bell. I also have a Kanstul H8 lea...

About a year 1/2 ago I wanted to make myself more marketable as a player so I bought a Yamaha 321 Bass Trombone. It`s a wonderful horn. I had (in the past) an Elkhart 72H and it was a dog. I`ve had an H8 leadpipe in my 16MG for probably 10 years and love it. It opened the upper range up quite a bit and just made it a better slotting horn. I tried an Edwards #2 for a while in the 16MG and didn`t like. I have one in mu 36 and it really works there.

A Giardinelli 4D is their answer to the 6 1/2AL
The 4M is basically a 6 3/4C with a little shallower cup
