I worked with mary a couple years ago with the Taylor Ho Bynum extended Ensemble in Buffalo. They did a clinic at the school I taught at . Mary was a hit. Wonderful person and killer player

I just had the Instrument Innovations Rotor put on my 42BO and LOVE it!
The "F" side of the horn feels exactly like the open side. Mike is so easy to work with.
He wants you to be happy with his products. It`s easily the best valve I`ve ever played

On my Bach 42BO I was using a Doug Elliott and liked it. But I decided to go back to the set-up I used in Grad school
and thanks to a couple of forum members I have it.

I have a 16M and have play others too and have had no problem with tuning in the upper range. A Bach 3 is (IMO)
way too big a mouthpiece for a horn tat size. I bet that is what`s giving you the issue

Wow, I meant my comment to be that Ashley made that superbone really work for him. With Maynard , I always felt that it was a gimmick. Ashley made it into a viable musical instrument.

I`ve had an H8 leadpipe in my 16MG for probably 10 years and love it. It opened the upper range up quite a bit and just made it a better slotting horn. I tried an Edwards #2 for a while in the 16MG and didn`t like. I have one in mu 36 and it really works there.

A Giardinelli 4D is their answer to the 6 1/2AL
The 4M is basically a 6 3/4C with a little shallower cup
I had talks with the mouthpiece makers at Giardelli NYC back in the late `70`s about making me a 6 1/2 copy and that`s what they told me

I`ve tried a number of 11C`s over the years and always felt the same way. Must the the rim contour because I can /and have played a 12C with no problem (well, some adjusting)

I have a Mount Vernon 36 and a 12 from the 1st year of production in Elkhart (most likely Mount Vernon Parts)
They both play great.
On All my small horns I use Mount Vernon 7C`s and there is a difference from later 7C`s I have

I had one of the Brass Ark 11C`s for a while. It is about the rim size of a 6 1/2 or 6 3/4 definitely not an 11C.
I also found it to play very bright for me.

I use a Windy City Bass Trombone Straight mute. Works and sounds great. a little heavier than a Joral or tom Crown but sounds just fine.

From what I remember about the "Souzabone". It`s a one of a kind 4 valve trombone in "C".
Calicchio did make it for him and said that it was difficult to make so "Never again".
