Did you mean Bach 6.75 aka 6 3/4C? I think the Greg Black 7C is more in line with a Bach 6 3/4C in terms of rim size. Note that a regular weight GB is heavier than a Bach by a fair bit.

If you had an unlimited budget, what 1 trombone would you buy? All bets are off, whether it's a vintage jazz horn or a top of the line concert trombone, if you could have any one tenor or bass, which would you choose? Hmmmmm here are the ones I'd consider: 1. Re: Small Shank Griego Alessi

I ended up buying a 7D, and I would personally not want to go shallower for what it is (I might even go one deeper if they made it). I think playing Doug's pieces I can get a pretty middle of the road sound, where the Griego is definitely on the more 'legit' side of the spectrum. It works well for w...

I am obviously no expert, but I would suggest finding a rim size (or size range) that works for your face. I don't play Wicks, but the 0AL isn't in the same ballpark as a 1.5 right? The rim shapes are also quite different. Which one is most comfortable? And which sounds closest to what you want to s...

Re: King 3BF/4BF G attachment

If you tune it lower than G, you can get Db in sharp 2 (near high G), C in 3rd, and B in flat 4th where the 3rd partial D is. This makes the slide patterns very close to what they would be in the upper octave. I think this trade-off is worth losing the G and D in 1st.

The GP is in no way a 1.5 sized piece. It is a good 1 1/4/59 size. Also the Reichenbach is a 1 1/4 rim on a shallow cup and small throat/bore. In the 1.5 range I would say look into a Griego 2. It is actually a little bigger than a Bach 1.5 but still fits into that family.
