Olds valve/slide 0-20 trombone

Post by ttf_anonymous »

Hi All,
I just acquired an Olds 0-20 valve/slide trombone in great shape. I've paired the valve section with the smaller Olds special (tri-color)7.5" Bell and accompanying hand slide. As a trumpet player, I must say that using the smaller bell the horn just opens up and sings. So I'm thinking of selling the original 8" bell and hand slide that came with the valve section. My question is, was the original Bell and slide made specifically for the 0-20 valve model or were they taken from another olds model as in the Ambassador trombone? any information would.

Thanks for the input.

I have the impression that the slide and bell are similar to the R-15 Recording, but in yellow brass and with conventional braces.

If you do decide to sell the bell and slide, drop me a line. I've get a valve section that's a little lonely.

Hey Thanks, I will do that! I'm going to experiment some between the two combinations and will
get back to you.
