Re,omds me of a plastic reflector you would put on a mic stand called a Sound Thief.

Smells of "gimmick" to me.

That's not new, Calicchio used to sell the same thing a few decades ago and I occasionally saw trumpet players using it. It seemed like a good idea but never caught on.

All jokes aside, in high volume gigs where you don't have a monitor, something like this is really handy to have and can be the difference between blowing out your chops and not. I have been meaning to buy something similar, but put it on the mic I'm using instead of the bell.

If you mean this kind of thing,

they work, and have their place in mic'd up bar bands and other loud situations without reliable monitoring.

I have no doubt the selfiesound works as well, and could provide the same with a clip mic, but ... I wouldn't want to fuss with it.

I don't think I would like to be playing in a band or venue where using one of these devices is necessary.

Good grief... seems WAY over-priced! Could build one of these and make it looks nice AND perform equally well at (I reckon) half the cost!

It's a cool invention though, no doubt. Something I'd like to try myself.

The way it attaches to the bell disturbs me.
Even if the plastic screws don't damage the bell directly,
I have visions of something getting caught on the plastic
(an enthusiastic audience member,
or a heavy piece of stage equipment,
or my fingers, perhaps? I accidentally fwack my bell all the time [pretty sure I'd cut myself on the sharp plexi] [but I'm a klutz])
and torquing the bell into oblivion.

Sometimes my imagination overacts.

Still, Mark's solution looks safer, if less portable.
