Griego Alessi 5c vs Griego Artist

Post by dorutzzu92 »

Hello guys

Some users of Griego Artist/Alessi 5E?

The artist line is 100% the same with the Alessi line?

Can somebody give me a feedback of how is compared (the 5E) to the griego alessi 5c?

Is it good for orchestral lead? 1st trombone?

Thank you!

Deeper cup. I play lead on a 4E. Depends on if you like a deeper cup or shallow.

I actually had a similar question I was going to ask! I have only ever played on the Griego Alessi line and was wondering if the Griego Artists are identical to the Alessi's. Is it a similar situation the the Greg Black Alessi's to the Greg Black New York line, where they modified the mouthpieces even though they are claimed to be the same?

Thanks!

I was told that the Artist series now all comes standard with .279 throat as opposed to the .283 that was on the Alessi series. This was a recent change. I e mailed Griego mouthpieces and they confirmed.

FWIW, Griego has suggested a bunch of times that the posted specs are not accurate on purpose in order to throw off competitors.
