How to practice technical studies on your own

Post by Namibiantrombone »

I have been playing trombone for over a year, but keen to improve. Private tutor is at the moment out of reach. However I found, via the internet archive, technical studies books by C. KOPPRASCH Sixty Studies for Trombone, A Slama 66 Etudes in all major and keys for Trombone, Chas E. Stacy Techninal studies for the slide trombone. Anybody knows of any video lessons based on this or any ideas would be appreciated.

I think the best is NOT to focus on literature. Best is to find a good teacher. Hopefully there is a city near. Go there and do research. You might not need lessons every week. A teacher can recommend the litterature based on your needs. There are plenty of videos out there of studies but nothing beats the situation of an individual lesson.
