FS: Two cases cheap (Bach and Holton)

Post by greenbean » Sat Mar 31, 2018 2:02 pm

I have two cases that need to go away. :hi:

Holton bass trombone case. Typical Holton case - wood, heavy, rectangular. Good shape. I think this held a TR180 originally. $50 + shipping

Bach 42 contoured case from the 1970s. Decent shape. Two outer latches work. The middle latch/clasp would work if a new "nubby" were soldered on. The accessories pocket was cut of of this case. Not sure why. Not a big deal - but you can't stuff in their unless you want it to get lost under all the contoured fuzzy stuff. Outside of case has some cool stickers... $30 + shipping

Shipping of empty cases tends to be cheap... Local players quality for FREE pick-up in SF or Berkeley!

I'm interested. Can I see some pictures of the Holton case? Inside and out.

Thanks!

I seem to have misplaced the Holton case, but I will send you photos as soon as I locate it! Sorry - it is here somewhere. Give me a day or two...

Okay, correction...

This Holton case appears to be for a tenor or single bass. My TR180 with an open D-wrap won't fit; a TR150 fits well. A 9.5" bell will fit easily. I am not sure if a 10" would fit. I no longer have one to test, but it appears to be close.

I see. I am looking for a case for my tr181. Need it to fit. Looks like this will not. Did your D wrap hang out of the back? I am wondering if I take off my D extension if that would make a difference ? HAVE you tried your 180 without the D wrap in?
