One advantage with a soprano trombone is you can lie on a couch and play. Very relaxing.

Doesn't the spit drain back in your mouth? Had this problem when reclining in a chair with tuba.

I'm laying on my back. I guess the spit does not leave my mouth, but we will see what happens after a couple of hours 😊

Another advantage is that you could, in theory, have perfect intonation vs. a trumpet.

In theory.

That's not an advantage. It just means you can't play with anybody else.

Another advantage with a soprano is you can practice in the driver's seat, you don't have to move back and play between the front seats. Makes it much easier to drive.

Soprano is also much easier than other trombones to hide underneath your overcoat to smuggle into a movie theater.

Another advantage with a soprano is it fits in a handbag and can travel safely on a flight.

And can be played on a flight, unless that would disturb others.

Plus the size means that it will much more convenient to practice while operating a hang-glider.

I'm imagining somehow taking a soprano trombone and a Yamaha Silent Brass with them on a plane, casually taking it out and practicing mid-flight.

I took my F alto in my suitcase on a trip to Europe - and never played it at all.
