Yamaha YSL-8420

Post by StevenHolloway »

Does anyone have any information on this horn? What are the specs? How does it play compared to the YSL-882 Xeno?

8420 is the custom series, around late 1980s if I remember correctly. The current equivalent should be 820GII. I have not played it, but by specs and design it should be lighter than the Xeno.

My tenor is an 820gii. Better than any Xeno tenor I tried, so I bought it. Very nice horn. Rings on a lot of partials. Easily worth $1200 I paid for it.
