King 4b

Is this a suitable move up horn for a hs freshman. He plays a Yama 354 and 6 1/2al now.

Yup. Just fine. Usually available used at reasonable prices. Can even stay with the 6½AL (with large shank).

Yep. That is what I moved up to back in the 70s. Classic large bore tenor. Still play it.
I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are still missing! :D

Shouldn't be too much of a problem, though it definitely will take significantly more breath control.
