A bit unwieldy with the side-by-side triggers, but plays really well, nice fat sound!!

Yup, here you go. https://drive.google.com/open?id=18eVsKrT788RZ30ZhUVzmfFjhQRZwdlnS Looks like some RC ball-and-socket linkages on the original thumb paddle. Re: Trouble with Slide, Bach 42BO

Forgot one: this friction isn't because of moisture in the slide is it? For the past few months I've noted that adding water almost always slows down my slide in any quantity. Additionally, my slide seems to work best when very dry and with a medium coating of lubricant. Is this normal? If anything...

Well, for one thing, ANY slide in 6th & 7th position most likely WON"T move on it's own! You're fighting against gravity at that point with the 3 feet of outer slide basically rotating downward on the end of 3 feet of flimsy inner slide tubes!! And unless you leave your slide in the trunk of your ca...

Overall, I don't think it would alter the sound THAT much, but that's just my demi-god like, all-knowing opinion.... Adding a valve section will run you about $1K, A Greenhoe section, if you can find one, will add a bit more. I would recommend an Instrument Innovation valve and your tech can build a...

Re: Leadpipe mod to improve high register?

A lead pipe swap "might" help, but I would check the obvious suspects first; waterkey alignment, bad cork not sealing, leak around the w.key nipple, mouthpiece not seating well in the leadpipe, etc... You might check with Chuck McAlexander to see if he has a Herrick or similar pipe, or just grab a f...

IF Conn-Selmer has one in stock, it can be ordered. But I don't see a Prelude trombone with an F attachment. Otherwise it might be cheaper & easier to just get a generic replacement such as the Blessing style valve from Instrument Innovations. http://www.instrumentinnovations.com/products#!/Tenor-Ro...

Proper technique is to attach a piece of cheesecloth or muslin, about 1" wide (2-3 cm) by about 4 feet (1 meter 30 cm) long. Place the cloth through the eye of the trombone rod and tie a knot in it. Then wrap the cloth in a spiral around the rod. The cloth should be long enough that when you put th...

Actually not that difficult to reform the receiver area in the leadpipe.
Ferree's sells a forming tool that works OK.
But take it to a competent tech & let them fit your mouthpiece, cheaper than a new one!

IMHO, the Selmer red crap is good stuff and I use it regularly on my horn & my customer horns.

But any of the horn related lubes work well, but don't fall into the heavier need to keep the tuning slide from moving! That requires an actual fix on the tubes to make them fit right!

IMHO, you'd be good to look at an Ergo-bone or similar to reduce or eliminate the weight of the horn from your body. The different rests and braces "might" help, but I strongly feel the best thing is to not have to endure holding the horn at all. Different valves and horns are a very expensive way t...

I'm not particularly fond of them. Just my personal opinion.
The bell section can be a pain to insert and trying to reach to the bottom of the accessory pouches is tough.

Seem to be built well and offer good protection for the slide & bell flare though.
