Re: ITF/Paul the Trombonist

I don't think he should be banned but rather admonished to stick to the teaching aspect, which he can do. Nothing wrong with making a dollar. He simply put the cart before the horse. I suspect his advisors for 'success' are not sensitive to the ethos of such a gathering.

Re: Looking for info on the BAC Trombone.

I tried a few BAC at the ITF this last week. A one off dual .525 -.547 straight configuration commanded my attention. I went around the room to get a sense of comparison as best as I could. ITF/Paul the Trombonist

Delayed by unfortunate AV hiccups Paul dove into his presentation at fast talking, breakneck speed. He offered some clever and encouraging ideas on how to begin the process of learning to improvise. What eventually was revealed was a slick commercial for Ginsu knives only for ITF participants. What ...

ITF disrespect

Tonight at the Graduate Hotel by the ITF venue Marshall Gilkes was performing at the bar but nobody paid any respect. The bar was chaos and entropy and while I was 20' from the band stand I could barely hear for the loud shouting. This was nearly 100% ITF members drowning out a Marshall Gilkes perfo...

Re: Control shoulder tension?

I will be presenting on this topic at the upcoming International Trombone Festival in July. Speakers are allotted 45-ish minutes so I can at least cobble an outline of the principals that we trombone players experience from a physiological perspective. A more detailed set of notes will be posted on ...
