Re: Favorite Mouthpieces?

NY 7C for small bore stuff, once upon a time.

Nowadays, DE XT102 with C+, D, or F+ cups and the appropriate shank size for the slide bore.

Re: Laurel vs Yanny as relates to hearing

I came across this from Christopher Bill on YouTube:

Basically it is both, and he manipulates the frequencies to show you how it's both.

Only ever clicked it the once on Chrome, and never looked back.
Yep, hasn't returned in Chrome on my home computer either. Probably just a weird edge case with IE on my machine.

Re: „This website uses cookies...“

IE (groan, I know, work requirement for in-house apps), on win10 desktop. I hit 'Got It' as soon as it pops up in. It also will display the message if I open a thread in a new tab even after hitting Got It in the spawning tab. It's....weird. I'll try on another browser once I'm home. To follow up o...

Re: „This website uses cookies...“

Any idea why the "This website uses cookies..." banner keeps popping up after you click the Got It! button? Sometimes it goes away for a while, but lately I click Got It, pop into a subforum or thread, and BAM it's back. Hey all, so I actually had forgotten about those information I was going to pr...

Re: 16M Gooseneck Question

I have two 16Ms-- one that is the 1970s era 16M slide + 16 bell, one that is 16M for both, from the 90s. I can't tell much of a difference in gooseneck when playing them. The 70s 16 bell is yellow brass while the 16M bell is Sterling, so that material difference is much more noticeable to me than th...

Re: Opinions on best mid-size trombone

I had a 356R that I foolishly sold once I was through high school. I forgot about that horn, it was great! It'd be perfect for what I'm using the Edwards for....time to go to ebay again.

Re: Flying with trombone

I have had good luck carrying on my tenor as well as a backpack. I've used both a Marcus Bonna bass case and a Pro-Tec tenor case without issue. I'd be wary about bringing a soft sided case-- on the last flight I carried on the horn, other passengers were not careful at all about trying to shove the...

Re: Opinions on best mid-size trombone

I bought a used Edwards T327 recently. It's their .525 model. I haven't yet come to terms with it. It feels far stuffier above the F above middle C than either my 16M or my .547 Edwards, pretty much regardless of leadpipe even. I'm tempted to try different components but....that's $$$$. I like the s...
