I have a New York 7 that is the best match I have found for my 6H. Better overall than any of the "C" mouthpieces I have tried.

EZ Bucket wins for me just because it's easy to use, small, and doesn't eliminate any notes. Good mute.

I would just get a used one. Millions of them out there, most of them quite good.

I bought a beater late Gen 1 horn for $600 a couple years ago. Very good instrument.

Lucky for you, I just got my 42B back with an Instrument Innovations rotor!

I haven't had a whole lot of time on it, but so far I am pretty happy with the blow. I think replacing the wrap would help some, which would cost a little more money.

A bass that large (and heavy to an extent) takes the right approach and air to play. I certainly couldn't play a similar horn a few years ago. What mouthpiece are you using?

Just played that Meistersinger at NAMM. Really great trombone, one of the best at the show. Compared to the K&H I couldn't tell you. It's definitely not exactly like anything American, with all the gold brass and nickel.

Don't worry about the lips so much as the air. Let the air take you to the end of each note.

I have a new stock 50B leadpipe in my 60H. It made the horn playable and 100% more even with a modern mouthpiece.

I'll get something more in line with the original design soon, but I'd say it's definitely worth it.

The only difference in English between D and T is that D is a voiced consonant (you are vocalizing while you do it).

I don't like "oh" much. To make the vowel "oh" you are mainly manipulating your lips from an "ah" vowel. Just think "ah," which is much more natural.
